College Board Forum 2025

What’s Next for BigFuture: Personalizing Tools to Drive Student Success

Helping students succeed after high school in a rapidly changing education and workforce landscape requires constant listening and a readiness to adapt.

BigFuture® is doing exactly that. As Amy Reitz, senior vice president of BigFuture, told the CSS/Financial Assistance Assembly at Forum 2025, the program is reimagining college and career planning to help students and their families make informed, confident decisions about what comes next.

BigFuture continues to expand its content and resources to better serve students and parents. A new library of short, easy-to-understand videos now offers guidance on topics like financial aid, scholarships, and career exploration, making vital information more accessible to teenagers planning their next steps. Not only that, a wealth of BigFuture Live events for parents create opportunities for open, informed conversations about college planning and affordability.

A more personalized BigFuture School platform is coming

Looking ahead, Reitz unveiled exciting plans for 2026, including a more personalized BigFuture School app experience that connects AP® and SAT® data to each student’s individual goals. This enhanced platform will deliver tailored, highly relevant insights on majors, skills, and career paths, along with salary projections and information on high-growth industries, empowering students to plan their futures with greater clarity and confidence.

BigFuture has grown into a connected ecosystem serving students, families, and educators. Through bigfuture.org, learners can explore more than 4,000 colleges, universities, and career training programs while accessing more than 30,000 scholarships customized to their personal criteria. The platform also offers practical tools—such as financial aid quizzes, planning checklists, and net price calculators—to help families better understand affordability and plan their strategies.

For students taking the SAT in school, BigFuture School provides personalized score reports that link their academic strengths to potential careers and postsecondary pathways.

“We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback from students and K–12 institutions,” Reitz said. “They’re seeing real value in how career insights are connected to their coursework and choices.”

Reitz stressed the importance of collaboration and community in driving innovation.

“We’re always asking what’s next—what’s the future of BigFuture—and how we can make financial planning and college guidance more accessible and meaningful for each and every student,” she said.

In a final call to action, Reitz invited attendees to join forces with the BigFuture Community of Experts.
