Important Update: A Dream Deferred

In light of the growing concern around travel due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and recent developments in Chicago, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the College Board’s A Dream Deferred/HBCU conference scheduled for March 11th–13th. We have made this decision with the health and safety of our members, students, attendees and staff as our top priority.

All registrations will be refunded via the initial form of payment.

As immediate next steps, please:

  • Reach out directly to the hotel where you made a reservation to cancel it.
  • Reach out to your airline carrier to cancel all reservations related to the conference. The College Board will not be responsible for any travel or out-of-pocket expenses.

The goals of A Dream Deferred/HBCU conference are central to the mission of the College Board and our work to support students from all backgrounds. We are exploring future opportunities to share—via alternative formats, including virtual learnings—the content from scheduled sessions. We also will ensure that we feature content from sessions at future College Board convenings, including the addition of key sessions to our Annual Forum scheduled for the end of October in Las Vegas, NV.

We appreciate your patience as we address this difficult situation. We will soon be in touch with all of our attendees, presenters, and planning committee members with additional information. We also will post updates to our website at dreamdeferred.collegeboard.org.

As we monitor the spread of the coronavirus and receive further guidance from public health organizations, we will provide timely updates should new developments affect any of our other upcoming conferences. Our focus is on the health and safety of our members, students, attendees, and staff.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support of College Board, our members, and the students we serve.
