The College Application Process Just Got a Little Easier: Students Can Now Send SAT Scores through MyCoalition
In August 2018, the College Board announced a partnership with the Coalition for College Access to fully integrate the process for sending SAT scores with the Coalition Application online platform.
We know that the college application process is daunting and complex for even the most well-resourced students and families; for underrepresented students it can be overwhelming. Alongside our members and partners in higher ed, we are constantly examining the application process and identifying new and innovative ways to remove barriers for students.
In August 2018, the College Board announced a partnership with the Coalition for College Access to fully integrate the process for sending SAT scores with the Coalition Application online platform. Students applying to college through the Coalition Application can now send official SAT and SAT Subject Test scores to colleges directly through MyCoalition, the Coalition’s online platform. This enhancement will streamline the college application process for all students applying to Coalition institutions.
This integration represents one of many recent enhancements that taken together make the college application process significantly easier and more transparent for all students, and particularly for low-income students. This means that low-income students can take the SAT, send their scores, submit applications, and apply for financial aid from as many colleges as they want completely free of charge.
How will this work exactly?
Students will use MyCoalition to apply to Coalition for College Access institutions, and when they’re ready to send their SAT scores, they’ll be prompted through MyCoalition to enter their College Board credentials to access their SAT scores. From there, they will follow prompts to send their official score reports, all without leaving MyCoalition!
College Board and Coalition are excited about this opportunity to partner in improving the college application process for students.
